Event Coordinator
Joy started at WashU in the fall of 2021, serving as the Event Coordinator for the Olin Undergraduate office.
Joy earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Stage Management from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University, and is currently working on her Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management.
Before coming to WashU, Joy worked as the Performing Arts Manager for Variety the Children’s Charity, overseeing their inclusive theatre, chorus/dance, and summer camp programs. She has also been working as a freelance event planner and stage manager throughout St. Louis for nine years.
Outside of work, Joy loves to attend local theatre, travel when she can, and do anything active!

Yoon Groves (she/her/hers)
Director of Academic and Student Affairs of Undergraduate Programs
Yoon joined WashU in the summer of 2012. She oversees student development for Olin undergraduate students, works with student organizations, and various programs. She is also a 4 year academic advisor, 2nd major advisor for Financial Engineering, and finance minor advisor.
Yoon has fifteen years of experience in higher education. She has worked in student affairs, academic affairs, and career services. She holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a M.A. in Student Personnel Administration from Saint Louis University.
Yoon enjoys spending time with her family and binge watching shows.

Ryan Kearney (he/him/his)
Global and Academic Advisor
Ryan joined WashU in Fall 2021.
Ryan received a B.A. in History and Anthropology, and an M.Ed in Higher Education Management from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to coming to WashU, he taught English in Thailand and France, and worked in higher education in both Pittsburgh and Indiana.
Outside of work, Ryan is passionate about traveling internationally and experiencing new cultures. He also enjoys going to museums and biking around local parks and nature trails. From Pittsburgh, he is also an avid Steelers and Penguins fan.

Paige LaRose (she/her/hers)
Associate Dean & Director of Undergraduate Programs
Dean LaRose oversees all aspects of the undergraduate program including academic advising, student development, admissions, and academic integrity.
Dean LaRose began her career in higher education working in collegiate athletics. She has worked with business students at Olin since 2008. Dean LaRose earned a B.A. in History from Truman State University, a M.Ed. in Higher Education from Texas A&M University, and holds a J.D. from Saint Louis University.
She loves to explore new restaurants and shops in the city of St. Louis. On the weekends, you’ll find her on a hike, gardening or spending time with her three kids.

Steve Malter, Ph.D. (he/him/his)
Senior Associate Dean for Experiential Learning and Strategic Programs
Dean Malter has oversight for the Center for Experiential Learning and undergraduate summer programs. He is also an academic advisor for undergraduate students and has developed and teaches in Olin’s Israel Summer Business Academy, a six week-six credit program based in Tel Aviv each summer.
Dean Malter earned his Bachelors of Arts in Criminal Justice and Law and his Master of Counselor Education in Student Personnel from the University of Florida in 1995 and 1998 respectively. While working at Olin, he earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2007. He began his higher education career in the Office of Student Activities at Washington University in St. Louis from 1998-2001 and then joined Ernst & Young as a campus recruiter from 2001-2003 before returning to Washington University in St. Louis and joining Olin in 2004.
Dean Malter is an avid but poor golfer and enjoys spending time with his two daughters.

Spencer Morgan (he/him/his)
Academic and Student Affairs Advisor
Spencer joined the Olin Undergraduate Programs team as a four-year academic advisor in summer 2021.
Prior to coming to WashU, Spencer earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and an M.A. in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University, where he worked in community engagement and peer mentoring programs. He also worked in residence life and advised student organizations at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, for two years.
Outside of work, Spencer enjoys pop culture and trivia, exploring local “hidden gem” food and drink spots, the experience of seeing movies in theaters, and taking mini road trips.

Analisa Ortiz (she/her/hers)
Assistant Director of Undergraduate Advising & Student Affairs
Analisa joined Olin in 2014 and oversees Olin’s student success programs, advises student organizations, and serves as a four year academic advisor. She also works closely with Olin’s marketing and communications team and the WashU Cares team.
Analisa earned her B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Communications at Iowa State University and her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She spent a summer abroad as an undergraduate, which sparked a love for traveling and experiencing new cultures. She most recently traveled to Argentina and Chile and is looking forward to her next international adventure!
You can find her around St. Louis enjoying Tower Grove Park with her dog Leo, frequenting local book stores like Left Bank Books, attending concerts at the Pageant, and eating at her favorite St. Louis local restaurants.

Michele joined WashU in Fall 2021.
Michele earned her B.B.A. in Management and Music Business from Belmont University where she studied abroad in Melbourne, Australia and London, England. She earned her M.A. in International Education from New York University, where she studied and interned abroad in South Africa. She also worked at Stern School of Business in International Exchanges & Special Programs, Advising, and the Deans Office as a graduate student.
Michele enjoys traveling, cooking, and attending concerts. Outside of work, Michele can be found hunting for the best coffee shops, exploring new areas of town or with her dog, Vegas.

Anna earned her B.A. in Criminology & Sociology from Cabrini University and her M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. While at Cabrini, Anna studied abroad through Semester at Sea, and she worked at the University Honors & Scholars Center during her time at Ohio State.
In addition to working with college students, Anna loves to bake, spend time with her niece, and explore the many restaurants and coffee shops St. Louis has to offer. She is also an avid sports fan (St. Louis, Philadelphia, and the Buckeyes).

Prior to joining Olin, Anthony served as a Washington University College Advising Corps college adviser at Sumner High School in St. Louis, MO and as an academic advisor at Saint Louis University.
Outside of work, Anthony enjoys spending time with his dog (Djoser), baking, exercising, exploring American musical traditions, and caring for his plants.

In addition to serving as a four year advisor, Liz manages our global partnerships and supports many of the international education opportunities across Olin.
Liz holds a M.Ed in Higher Education and has over 10 years of experience in the field of international education. Having studied art and art history as an undergraduate, Liz has lived and worked overseas, and has spent significant time in Italy, Ireland, and Kosovo.
She enjoys sharing her experiences and encouraging students to step out of their comfort zone and meet locals when travelling abroad in order to get the most out of their study and internship abroad experiences.

Genesis Steele (she/her/hers)
Assistant Director of Academic and Student Affairs –Undergraduate Programs
Genesis joined WashU in the Fall of 2019 and the Olin School of Business after transitioning from the Gephardt Institute for Civic and Community Engagement in the Spring of 2022. She oversees student organizations, will work with various programs, and is also an academic advisor to four-year students and a second major/minor advisor.
Genesis has a wide array of experience in higher education spanning over 20 years. She has worked in student affairs and academic affairs and holds a B.A. in Communications and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies.
Genesis enjoys spending time with her family, her dog Kennedy, photography, and salsa dancing.

Sara Stratton (she/her/hers)
Associate Director of Global Programs
Sara came to WashU in June 2018. She manages a number of Olin’s semester and short-term programs abroad. Sara works with students before, during, and after their time abroad, as well as with the short-term faculty-led domestic programs. She is also a 4-year academic advisor, and advisor for the International Business and Business of Entertainment minors.
Sara has worked in higher education for a number of years across the US and Spain, most recently working in Global Education at M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA. She earned her B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa & her M.A. in International Higher Education & Intercultural Relations from Lesley University.
Sara is a travel enthusiast, both domestic and international, and a connoisseur of useless trivia. In her spare time, she enjoys live music, exploring all St. Louis has to offer, baking, and playing with her dog, Zeba.
